Experience

Lieutenant Colonel William D. Anderson Jr. is a National Defense Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.  His former assignment was as the Commander of the 15th Airlift Squadron at Charleston Air Force Base, South Carolina.  Colonel Anderson is from Apache Junction, Arizona.  He received a commission as a second lieutenant after graduating from the United States Air Force Academy in 1991.  He is a senior pilot with more than 4,600 hours including combat time in support of operations in Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Balkans.  He has served as an instructor or evaluator pilot in the C-9A, C-141B, and C-17A.
