Experience

Pierre Haren founded ILOG S.A. in April of 1987 and became Chairman in 1995. He took the Company public on NASDAQ in 1997 and on Nouveau Marché (Paris) in 1998. Previously, Haren spent four years at the French Research Center in Computer Sciences, INRIA, as head of the SMECI expert system shell project. Prior to that, he was manager of research funds for the French Ministry of the Sea for three years. He holds Engineering degrees from Ecole Polytechnique (1973) and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (1978) and a Masters and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from MIT (1980).  Mr. Haren is a Board member of IPSOS, ENPC, and Fondation de l'Ecole Polytechnique, Member of the "Académie des Technologies", Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur. His hobbies include underwater photography, scuba diving (NAUI Instructor n° 5937), and paragliding (P4 level).
