Matthew Kroenig, MTA Affiliate, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Government at Georgetown University will present an MTA seminar entitled "Nuclear Superiority or the Balance of Resolve? Explaining Nuclear Crisis Outcomes," on April 13, 2010 in the Belfer Center library, beginning at 9:30am.

Managing the Atom and International Security Fellow Matthew Kroenig will present "Beyond Optimism and Pessimism: The Effects of Nuclear Proliferation" on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 in the Belfer Center Library, beginning at 9:30 am.

Nearly every state armed with nuclear weapons received a substantial amount of external assistance in the development of its nuclear program from a more advanced nuclear state. This raises an interesting question about the motivation of the nuclear suppliers: Why do states provide sensitive nuclear assistance to nonnuclear weapon states, contributing to the international spread of nuclear weapons?
