| December 8, 2015

Audio recordings from MEI's Fall 2015 Study Group Rewriting the Arab Social Contract: Toward Inclusive Development and Politics in the Arab World, with former Tunisian Minister of Economic Infrastructure and Sustainable Development Hedi Larbi.

During the Fall 2015 semester, MEI Visiting Scholar Hedi Larbi invited a distinguished group of scholars and practitioners to address the often overlooked economic and social issues at the root of the 2011 Arab uprisings and to envision a new social contract in the Arab world. The experts drew on a wealth of operational experience and academic frames, examining practical questions like youth unemployment, education and healthcare delivery, as well as theorectial questions on the history and nature of the social and political contract in the Arab world and the means of creating a new social contract.
