Congressman Goss is dedicated to his constituents in Florida, working to make sure their tax dollars are spent wisely. Most of his legislative efforts are focused on veterans, the environment, health care and national security. He has worked to prevent off-shore drilling and set aside funds to restore the Everglades ecosystem. He created a Veterans Outpatient Clinic and continually fights for fair distribution of VA dollars nationwide.

The Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs is proud to host a Director's Seminar entitled, "9/11 and the Future of American Intelligence," with Congressman Porter Goss (R-FL). As Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, Congressman Goss has been leading the investigation into possible intelligence failures prior to the attacks on September 11th and has been working to improve U.S. intelligence operations in order to prevent future terrorist attacks. A former officer with the U.S. Army Intelligence and the CIA, Congressman Goss brings personal knowledge and experience to his role as Chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. He actively participates in the review of NATO’s response to global security issues and has proven a tremendous resource for our allies. He frequently travels to Eastern Europe, Latin America and Asia to better understand the challenges they face and to create a more stable international community.
