China's Challenge: Unemployed Workers and Social Instability in the 21st Century
Li Qiang is currently Professor of Sociology at People's University where he works on labor and unemployment issues in the course of China's economic reforms, and on issues related to the floating migrant population in China. He has also done extensive work on social welfare issues, worker retraining, and wage differentials.Li Qiang is in the United States as part of the China Fulbright Twentieth Anniversary Distinguished Lecturer Program which celebrates twenty years of the Fulbirght Program in China. Professor Li has also taught at Duke University and Dickinson College and has traveled and spoken throughout the United States.
