The Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs is proud to host a Director's Seminar on “A Conversation on Corporate Responsibility in the Age of Terror and Enron” with Ben Heineman, Senior Vice President-Law and Public Affairs, General Electric Company.
Previously, Mr. Heineman was Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of GE since 1987. Before joining GE, he was managing partner at Sidley & Austin in Washington, D.C., focusing on Supreme Court and test case litigation. Prior to that he was the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation at the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare.
Mr. Heineman is a graduate of Harvard College, Oxford University and Yale Law School (1971). A former Rhodes Scholar, editor-in-chief of the Yale Law Journal and law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart, he is the author of books on British race relations and the American presidency. Mr. Heineman is on the boards of the Center for Strategic and International Studies and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
