Shikaki has conducted more than one hundred polls among Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip since 1993. A world-renowned expert on Palestinian public opinion and a widely published author, he has taught at several institutions, including Birzeit University, An-Najah National University, the University of Wisconsin, and the University of South Florida. He was also a visiting fellow at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. Recent publications include Palestinian Public Opinion and the Peace Process: Long Term Trends and Policy Implications (Washington DC: United States Institute of Peace, 2005), and “The Future of Palestine,” Foreign Affairs (November-December 2004).
