In 1993, Erel Margalit founded Jerusalem Venture Partners, one of Israel’s most successful venture capital firms, where he became a pioneer of the Start-Up Nation. He was also the first Israeli to be named to Forbes Midas List.

In 2013, Erel was elected to the Knesset and brought with him his private sector and entrepreneurial experience to the public sector. Now as a rising star on the Israeli political scene, he is working to promote economic development and cooperation throughout Israel and the Middle East.

He served as a soldier and commander in the Special Forces of the IDF’s Golani Brigade and fought in the First Lebanon War. He earned his Ph.D. in philosophy from Columbia University after studying at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
