Saeed Al Muntafiq is Chairman of Tatweer, a member of Dubai Holding, the flagship Dubai conglomerate that is one of the largest and fastest growing in the Middle East. Tatweer owns and manages a vast array of mega-projects including projects in healthcare, tourism, real estate, investments, and a commodity futures exchanges. Dubailand, just one of Tatweer’s projects, is a leisure, tourism and entertainment center four times the size of Manhattan. Tatweer spun off of the Dubai Development and Investment Authority (DDIA), the government agency charged with pioneering Dubai’s economic development strategy and attracting foreign direct investment. Saeed was the Director General of DDIA from 2002 to 2006.
Additionally, Saeed is Chairman of Young Arab Leaders (YAL), an NGO under the patronage of the ruler of Dubai and the king of Jordan and in close partnership with the Clinton Global Initiative. As the leading action-oriented Arab youth NGO, YAL is working to improve the state of the Arab world by creating the necessary environment for potential young leaders to grow and develop across all sectors of Arab society. YAL maintains a network of more than 300 of the region’s leaders in 15 countries. During Saeed’s tenure as Chairman, YAL will develop key initiatives in the areas of education, leadership, youth network, entrepreneurship and dialogue exchange.
