Seminar Chances for Acceptence of a Global Cap and Trade System for GHG in the US
In his presentation, Daniel will talk about the main findings of his Master's thesis he completed earlier this year: he will explore the question if a global cap-and-trade system for greenhouse gases could be implemented in the United States of America, following the end of the first commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol in 2012. Proposed global cap-and-trade frameworks set a maximum worldwide GHG emission quantity with the aim to prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system, whilst relying on global emissions trading in order to allow emission reductions to occur in the most cost-effective way possible.
