About

Y.T. Chien is Director of the Information and Intelligent Systems Division at the National Science Foundation (NSF). On leave from NSF this year, he is pursuing information technology policy-related work with the HIIP as a visiting fellow. For the last four weeks, he was in Tokyo under a special fellowship to study Japan?s Internet R&D programs. With a rare, though brief, opportunity to look at and experience the cyberspace there, he will include in this talk his personal observations about Japan in the Internet world.
