Professor Gusterson's research focuses on the political culture of nuclear weapons scientists and antinuclear activists in the U.S. and former Soviet Union. He is also interested in the contemporary biotech industry and in psychopharmacology. He teaches classes on war and peace in anthropological perspective, drug politics and culture, ethics and science, the anthropology of science and technology, and cultural critique.
