The Summit on the Future of Europe is an initiative of Harvard University’s Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies (CES). Launched in 2014, this annual conference convenes eminent scholars and public leaders at Harvard to debate critical challenges facing Europe. The 2017 Summit will focus on “Europe and Transatlantic Relations in the Era of Populism. It is a partnership of the Center, diaNEOsis Research and Policy Institute, and the WZB Berlin Social Science Center. The 2017 summit features four panels: Academic Freedom in the Age of Populism and Post-Truth, Is the European Economy Out of the Woods?, The Future of Transatlantic Relations, and Europe and Russia. The luncheon keynote Spain after Catalonia's Referendum is by invitation only. All sessions also viewable via livestream. The Summit on the Future of Europe features the Belfer Center's Ash Carter and Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall in the Future of Transatlantic Relations session with chair Joseph Nye. Nye is also chair for Spain after Catalonia's Referendum.
