Under Afghanistan?s Taliban regime, women live in the most severe form of Islamic Fundamentalism, in which they are denied education, basic health services, and have virtually become prisoners in their homes. During this brown bag event, Zohra will examine the situation of women in Afghanistan under these repressive conditions. She will also explore strategies for action by the international community and American civil society in supporting Afghan women and mobilizing opposition to the Taliban.
