Pakistan Elections
Xenia Dormandy, Director of the Project on India and the Subcontinent, gave a Shorenstein lecture on the Pakistan parliamentary elections at the National Press Club on February 21, 2008.
She recounted her experience monitoring the elections, reported on the results, and predicted the impact of the PPP victory on Pakistan's future.
According to Dormandy, democratization should be the first priority of the U.S. in its relations with Pakistan, followed by stability, counter-terrorism, and non-proliferation.
