Biography

Katie Segal is a 2020 MPP graduate and a Louis and Gabrielle Bacon Environmental Leadership Fellow at the Center for Public Leadership (CPL). She has also been a Research Assistant for the Belfer Center’s Arctic Initiative since January 2019. She focuses on climate and energy policy and is especially passionate about U.S. state-level action to combat climate change. Last summer, she interned with the U.S. Climate Alliance, a coalition of 25 state governors committed to advancing Paris Agreement goals within their states. Before HKS, Katie consulted on regulatory, economic, environment, and energy projects for over 30 government agencies, including the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, the MA Department of Energy Resources, and the U.S. EPA. She supported agencies on projects ranging from the Massachusetts Global Warming Solutions Act to vehicle electrification initiatives. Katie holds a B.S. in Biology, Environmental Studies, and Political Science from Tufts University and is originally from Southern California.
