Taking Flight: Exploring Innovative Uses of Drone Technology

Wed., Sep. 26, 2018 | 12:00pm - 6:00pm

“Taking Flight: Exploring Innovative Uses of Drone Technology” – a half-day conference hosted by the Intelligence Project at Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center – will focus on the security, commercial, and humanitarian futures of this rapidly emerging technology. Speakers will highlight opportunities for the expansion of drone technology both for defense and non-defense uses and will underscore the need to ensure that the technology will be utilized in ways that benefit the public good.

The conference will include expert presentations and discussions on drone applications and implications for the defense, humanitarian, and commercial sectors. Drone expert Bernard Hudson, Senior Fellow with the Intelligence Project and former Chief of Counterterrorism with the CIA, will moderate a follow-up panel discussion with the presenters and questions from the audience.  The conference will conclude with a cocktail reception.
