-Belfer Center Newsletter Summer 2013
The Summer 2013 issue of the Belfer Center newsletter features recent and upcoming activities, research, and analysis by members of the Center community on critical global issues. This edition highlights the Belfer Center’s expanding work on complex cybersecurity issues and Middle East challenges, offers reflections on the role of the U.S. in Iraq, and spotlights work being done by the Center and its affiliates on environment and energy issues.
This issue also features Belfer Center perspectives on the Boston Marathon bombings of April 15. Belfer Center Director Graham Allison applauds the response of the city to the bombings and highlights the many contributions that the Belfer Center has made to best practice public safety and emergency management operations. Also included in the issue is an interview with Juliette Kayyem, former assistant secretary for intergovernmental affairs at the Department of Homeland Security and member of the Center’s Board of Directors, who provided extensive insight and analysis into the marathon bombings.
