The Caspian Region Sourcebook is a collection of documents and articles illustrating the main security and political policies that have evolved among the major actors operating in the Caspian Region since the breakup of the Soviet Union. The documents exemplify the main security orientations of the states of the region, provide important information on the individual states of the region, and contain information on the conflicts that afflict the area. In many cases, a progression of policies, and changes of the definition of interests is evident. The book was prepared on the eve of our October 2000 experts conference on U.S.-Russian Relations: Implications for the Caspian Region.
