I am pleased to send greetings as you gather for the 5th Annual Russian Investment Symposium.
This symposium provides a unique opportunity to discuss the growth of our world''s economy. Reducing the barriers to the expansion of global trade and the flow of global capital is vital to stimulating worldwide economic growth. Through the Russian Government''s market reform pro grams, the Russian economy now presents both immediate and long-term trade and investment opportunities for foreign companies. At this time of increased cooperation, the United States is ready and willing to engage fully in private commercial relation ships with Russia that will benefit both of our economies and further strengthen our friendship.
I applaud the organizers and participants of the Russian Investment Symposium for your work in enhancing collaboration among business and government leaders from Russia and the United States. The theme of your symposium, "Reform and Renewal," demonstrates your desire to continue influencing positive changes and growth in Russia following economically challenging times. I expect that these meetings will serve as an important step in creating stronger economic ties and greater prosperity for both of our nations.
Laura joins me in sending our best wishes for a successful meeting.
