Professor Joseph S. Nye, Jr. received the Sakıp Sabancı International Research Awards' Jury Prize at a ceremony held at Istanbul's  Sabancı Center on April 10, 2019. The ceremony was hosted by the Sakıp Sabancı family and  Sabancı University.

Tawakkol Karman, Yemeni activist and recipient of the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize, served as a Fisher Family Fellow with Harvard’s Future of Diplomacy Project. An outspoken and passionate advocate for human rights, she was critical of the inaction of international institutions and developed nations in response to rights violations in the Middle East.

Also in recent days, the U.S. and Iran agreed to a prisoner swap that led to the freedom of Washington Post reporter Jason Rezaian and others, and negotiated the release of American sailors detained in Iran. What does the arrival of Implementation Day mean for Iran’s nuclear program and nuclear nonproliferation, and how does it bode for the future of U.S.-Iran relations? We asked Belfer Center experts to weigh in on these and related questions.

The terrorist attacks in Paris on November 13, which killed at least 129 people and injured hundreds of others, stunned the international community.
