The Harvard Project conducted a research and policy workshop in December 2021, “Subnational Climate Change Policy in India.” Co-sponsors were the Centre for Policy Research, in New Delhi, and the Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute at Harvard University.

Grand Strategy, Security, and Statecraft Fellowship: Application Deadline is December 17, 2021

The International Security Program at the Harvard Kennedy School and the Security Studies Program at MIT invite applications for a ONE-year, pre- or post-doctoral fellowship in Grand Strategy, Security, and Statecraft. The program is supported by a grant from the Charles Koch Foundation and is open to applicants from political science, history, and other relevant disciplines. It is intended to support research addressing fundamental issues of U.S. grand strategy, foreign policy, and America's role in the world: Projects that are likely to broaden the contemporary debate on these topics are of particular interest.

Harvard Project Co-Sponsors Webinar on Climate and Energy Policy in India

The Harvard Project on Climate Agreements co-sponsored a webinar on March 30, 2021: “The Future of Green India: Energy and Climate Change.” Hosting the event was the Lakshmi Mittal and Family South Asia Institute at Harvard University. The other co-sponsors were the Environment and Natural Resources Program in the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs, Harvard Kennedy School — and the Harvard University Center for the Environment. The Harvard Global Institute provided support for the seminar and a larger project of which it is part.

Ambassador David Saperstein talks TPP, ISIL, and the Next Administration

David Saperstein, U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Religious Freedom, spoke on Monday, November 14th at the Harvard Kennedy School on “U.S. Efforts to Promote Religious Freedom Abroad.” In a wide-ranging discussion moderated by Future of Diplomacy Project Executive Director Cathryn Clüver, the diplomat and rabbi explained the importance of religion and human rights as part of an integrated approach to foreign policy.

The Future of Diplomacy Project Hosts NATO Secretary General

On September 23, His Excellency Jens Stoltenberg, NATO Secretary General, visited the Kennedy School for a Future of Diplomacy seminar and expert lunch. During the seminar, titled "The Three Ages of NATO: An Evolving Alliance," Mr. Stoltenberg described the alliance as a responsive organization, capable of adapting to changes in the international security landscape but committed to the continuity of its founding values. In particular, he emphasized the necessity of maintaining a policy of absolute solidarity among member states, especially  in light of the exacerbating civil war in Syria and Russia’s aggressive stance toward countries to the East of NATO member state borders.
