Moving Forward: Montek Singh Ahluwalia, deputy chairman of the Planning Commission of the Government of India, speaks on 'A Trajectory for India' at a seminar hosted by the Center's Project on India and the Subcontinent in April.  Ahluwalia, who was appointed tot eh post in 2004, played a critical role in reforming India's economy in the 1990s under current Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.  Ahluwalia served previously in India as finance secretary, secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs, commerce secretary, and special secretary to the prime minister.
