Space Governance & Diplomacy Initiative
Advancing international cooperation and responsible governance in civil and commercial space.
Commercial companies are transforming access to orbit. New nations are becoming space powers. Human activity is expanding beyond low Earth orbit. The existing institutions and international agreements were largely designed for a very different era.
The Space Governance & Diplomacy Initiative examines how governments, international institutions, and private actors can develop the rules, norms, and partnerships needed to ensure that space remains a domain for innovation, exploration, security, and shared benefit.
What We Study
The space domain is entering a period of profound change. Our research focuses on the governance challenges created by that transformation and on the regulatory and diplomatic tools available to address them.
