This study group will explore practical debates shaping renewable energy deployment and transmission development on the U.S. electric grid.

During October 2026, Dr. Dan Schrag, Co-Director of the Belfer Center's Science, Technology and Public Policy Program, and clean energy entrepreneur Michael Skelly will host four discussions on carbon-free energy and the U.S. electric grid. The reading list introduces four practical debates shaping renewable energy development. The selections favor journalistic essays, policy explainers, and case studies written for highly educated readers who do not need a strong foundation in electricity policy.
