Alex Nikolov

Alex Nikolov is a Master in Public Policy candidate at Harvard Kennedy School, where his research focuses on energy policy, national security, and foreign policy, with an emphasis on Eastern Europe and the Black Sea region. He is a Research Assistant to Eric Rosenbach under the Defense, Emerging Technology, and Strategy (DETS) program at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. Prior to Harvard, Alex served as Foreign Policy Adviser to Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov, with a focus on Schengen and Eurozone accession and support for Ukraine.

Previously, he served as an adviser to the Minister of Finance in the government of Prime Minister Kiril Petkov, where he worked on energy sector projects under the EU Recovery and Resilience Plan. He also worked as a policy officer at the European Commission in Brussels and began his career as a business analyst at Roland Berger, focusing on finance and energy projects. 

He holds an M.Sc. in Political Science and Political Economy from the London School of Economics and a B.Sc. in Economics and Management from King's College London.
