Hamad Althunayyan
Hamad Althunayyan is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Kuwait University, and a Research Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School's Middle East Initiative.
His work focuses on regional security, energy geopolitics, and the international relations of the Middle East. He has written on these subjects, and has appeared as a commentator for major outlets including the BBC, CNN, CNBC, and Aljazeera English. At Kuwait University, he teaches courses on national security, foreign policy, and the U.S. political system. He has also contributed to policy discussions on Gulf security and mediation efforts facilitated by the Gulf Cooperation Council. He earned his PhD in Political Science from University of Maryland- College Park, and his Masters in International Affairs from American University- Washington, DC.
