David Tessler graduated in 1999 with an MPP from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he focused on international security studies. After graduating, David joined the Foreign Service and was posted in Bucharest, Baghdad, and at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations. David transitioned in 2010 from the State Department to the Department of the Treasury, where he currently serves at Senior Advisor to the Acting Under Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, Adam Szubin. David has spent much of his six years at Treasury working on Iran sanctions and participated in the negotiations that resulted in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action announced in July, 2015.
