Two decades of telecommunications liberalization, the recognition of the strategic economic importance of spectrum, and the changing demand for spectrum both quantitatively and qualitatively, are together forcing innovation in the management of spectrum. The speaker, a member of the Spectrum Management Advisory Group to the Department of Trade and Industry (UK), will discuss the British recipe for successful spectrum management, from the perspective of both an industry leader and as an active participant in policy development in the United Kingdom.
