A Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the American Psychological Association, Dunlap has served as President of the International Sociological Association’s Research Committee on Environment and Society and the American Sociological Association’s Section on Environment and Technology. He is presently serving as Chair of the ASA Task Force on Sociology and Global Climate Change.
Dunlap’s current research focuses primarily on the nature and sources of climate change denial and political polarization over climate change among the American public, and he has published several recent articles and chapters on these interrelated topics.
