A Conversation with Matthew Nimetz, former UN Special Representative
Please join the Harvard Central and Southeast European Law Association (HCSELSA) and the Project on Europe and the Transatlantic Relationship for a conversation with Matthew Nimetz (HLS '65), a US diplomat and was the UN Special Representative who successfully mediated the Macedonian naming dispute between Greece and North Macedonia (previously known as the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia). In addition to his diplomatic work, Nimetz also practiced corporate law at a major New York law firm and later served as COO of a global private equity firm. During the presentation, Nimetz will briefly describe the dispute and how it was successfully resolved, and then engage in a dialogue with students.
