His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Faisal Al Saud, former Director General of Saudi Arabia's Al Mukhabarat Al A'amah (General Intelligence Directorate-GID) and a former ambassador to the United Kingdom and the United States will speak in a Crown-Belfer Seminar Series luncheon.
Prince Turki is currently a commissioner in the International Commission on Nuclear Non-Proliferation and Disarmament and Chairman of the Board of the King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies in Riyadh. He began his distinguished career in 1973 when he was appointed an Advisor in the Royal Court. From 1977 to 2001, he served as the Director General of the GID, the Kingdom's main intelligence service. In 2002, he was appointed Ambassador of to the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland and in 2005 he was appointed as Ambassador to the United States.
Prince Turki is also involved in a number of cultural and social activities. He is one of the founders of the King Faisal Foundation and is also Chairman of the Board of the Prince Charles Visual Islamic and Traditional Arts Center in the UK, as well as the co-chair of the C-100 Group, which has been affiliated with the World Economic Forum since 2003.
