How Does the US Fight in Cyberspace?

Join the Cyber Project as we explore how the United States is “defending forward” against adversaries in cyberspace with its new operational strategy known as Persistent Engagement.

Lauren Zabierek, the Executive Director of the Cyber Project, will moderate a discussion to explore the operational, historical, theoretical, and contrarian perspectives in order to better understand this strategy.  What is Persistent Engagement? How did it evolve from previous strategy? What are we doing in cyberspace?

Our guests will include USCYBERCOM Director of Operations, Major General Charles L. Moore; Dr. Emily Goldman, Policy Planning Staff at the Department of State and original drafter of CYBERCOM’s vision; Dr. Michael Fischerkeller who regularly assesses the effectiveness and security implications of the strategy; Dr. Brandon Valeriano, the Donald Bren Chair of Military Innovation at the Marine Corps University.
