DEUTCH v. KRISTOL "IRAQ: Should We Withdraw Now?"
Following up on the October 2002 debate on whether or not to invade Iraq William Kristol and John Deutch debate the question of "Iraq: Should We Withdraw Now?" Kristol, editor of the Weekly Standard, and staunch proponent of the war, contends that U.S. troops must remain in Iraq to bring about a stabilized democracy. Deutch, former Director of Central Intelligence, on the other hand, opposed the decision to invade Iraq, and now supports a prompt withdrawal plan with clearly defined political, military and economic elements.
