Open to the Public

Ethnic Swamping

About

The ancient strategy of Ethnic Swamping—introducing a loyal population into a disputed region—is still used for state expansion by diverse nations such as Indonesia, Armenia, Israel, and Morocco. Eiran’s presentation follows one such case—the 1970–2005 Israeli settlement project in the Gaza Strip—and explores what led to its demise.
