The Future Of Europe: An Economic Perspective
Domenico Siniscalco is professor of Economics at the University of Torino. He has taught at Cambridge, Louvain la Neuve, Johns Hopkins, and authored several academic books and more than 70 papers on industrial economics, privatisation, energy and environmental economics, published by refereed journal such as the European Economic Review, and the Journal of Public Economics. His latest volume "The Challenges of Privatisation" has been published by Oxford University Press in 2004. From July 2001 to September 2005, Siniscalco served in the Italian government, first as Director General of the Treasury, then as Economy and Finance Minister. For many years he was front page commentator on "Il Sole 24 Ore". This Talk is part of the "What Europe?" series, organized by the MIT-Italy, MIT-France and MIT-Germany Programs.
