The overarching question imparting urgency to this exploration is: Can U.S.-Russian contention in cyberspace cause the two nuclear superpowers to stumble into war? In considering this question we were constantly reminded of recent comments by a prominent U.S. arms control expert: At least as dangerous as the risk of an actual cyberattack, he observed, is cyber operations’ “blurring of the line between peace and war.” Or, as Nye wrote, “in the cyber realm, the difference between a weapon and a non-weapon may come down to a single line of code, or simply the intent of a computer program’s user.”

As a prominent advocate of Global Peace, Tolerance, and Coexistence, Dr. Al Nuaimi is currently serving as the first Chairman of the International Steering Board of Hedayah, The International Center of Excellence for Countering Violent Extremism based in Abu Dhabi. He is also the Founder and Chairman of the World Council of Muslim Communities. Furthermore, Dr. Al Nuaimi is a founding member of the Forum for Promoting Peace in Muslim Societies and the first Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders.
As a true believer of the significance of Digital Communication in the modern world, Dr. Al Nuaimi is the Founder and Chairman of Al-Majal Media that is a specialized media company for the development of digital media platforms and for launching strategic communication initiatives at the local, regional and international levels. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of Al-Ain News Portal that is a comprehensive Arab news portal covering primarily Arab world news, as well as being the founder of the 7D News based in London covering news from the rest of the world. As a pioneer of educational reform and policy in the UAE, Dr. Al Nuaimi served as the Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) and the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) in his capacity as a Member of the Executive Council of the Government of Abu Dhabi.
