"Global Threat Reduction: Securing Vulnerable Highly Enriched Uranium Worldwide"

Ms. Kelly Cummins, Director of Former Soviet Union and Asian Threat Reduction, U.S. Department of Energy, will discuss her hands-on experience securing and removing vulnerable nuclear material through the U.S. Department of Energy’s Global Threat Reduction Initiative.  She will focus on overcoming political and technical hurdles to achieve results in places such as Kazakhstan and Libya, and will also share future plans for addressing highly enriched uranium and plutonium worldwide.
