Most contemporary suicide attacks embody an altogether different, transnational pattern of this modus operandi. Whereas nationalism may have been at the root of the traditional phenomenon of suicide attacks, the current manifestation of suicide operations is more a function of globalization and the spread of radical Salafi ideology.
