Guatemala and Human Rights: Discovery of a Death Squad Diary

About

Kate Doyle will address the current state of human rights in Guatemala today, including the UN Truth Commission on Guatemala's four decades of violence, President Clinton's apology to the people for the U.S.'s role during that period, and her discovery of a military death list of the disappeared. She will also address issues of greatest import to the National Security Archive, such as transparency in government, the right to truth, and civilian control of the military.
