Harvard Iranian Weekend (HIW) is a global conference that will convene students, academics, and professionals with an interest in better understanding Iran and Iranian culture, showcasing perspectives and insights on topics of interest including culture, policy, science, entrepreneurship, and the arts. This weekend-long event is curated and coordinated by a consortium of Harvard students, alumni, and faculty including Harvard Iranian Alumni, the Harvard Kennedy School Persian Caucus, the Harvard Iranian Student Association, and the Harvard College Iranian Association.
Taking place April 7-9, 2017, the theme for the second annual Harvard Iranian Weekend is “Engage.” Our deliberate choice of an active verb reflects our belief that active engagement is critical to our collective success. HIW will provide an open forum for the discussion of diverse issues such as the continuously-changing Iran policy landscape, the evolution of Iranian cuisine within and outside Iran, as well as the contributions and impact of Iranian Americans in the United States in science, entrepreneurship, and beyond.
In the spirit of engagement, HIW brings an active element to the conference through uniquely designed networking events and panel sessions. Join us to feel inspired throughout the weekend as our speakers weigh in on topics from entrepreneurship to the evolution of Persian cuisine. Connect with old friends, meet new neighbors, and exchange contacts while roaming through our onsite gallery. Finally, leave the weekend feeling empowered with the take-home strategies provided by each speaker to convert their words into action.
