Dr. Joel Shapiro, Chairman, Intelligence Community Issues and Management at the National Intelligence University, Washington, DC, will speak on “Intelligence 101: An Overview of Intelligence.”   

Dr. Shapiro has been an intelligence officer for 29 years, mostly as a strategic analyst. He served in the Army Materiel Command and the Army G-2 Staff in the Pentagon, where he was a Russian, Balkan, and then global analyst. He had rotational assignments in policy in the Office of the Secretary of Defense and at the Defense Intelligence Agency, where he was an Assistant defense Intelligence Officer for Russia and Eurasia.  Previous to his current teaching position at the National Intelligence University, he was a senior advisor for Intelligence Community policy on partnership engagement at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

This event is open to Harvard students, fellows, faculty, and staff on first come first served basis.
