LTG H.R. McMaster, Director Army Capabilities Integration Center, will talk on the Future of the Army; a presentation of the strategic choices facing the nation’s ground forces and recommendations for change.

Lieutenant General H. R. McMaster assumed duties as the Director, Army Capabilities and Integration Center and Deputy Commanding General, Futures, US Army Training and Doctrine Command on 15 July 2014. ARCIC is the Army organization tasked to think full-time about the next war and how to win it. His combat assignments include Iraq and Afghanistan. He was commissioned as an officer in the Army upon graduation from the United States Military Academy in 1984. He holds a PhD in military history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is the author of “Dereliction of Duty,” a fascinating book on the roles of the president and senior military leaders leading to the Vietnam war.
