The John F. Kennedy School of Government and the Department of Science & Technology Studies at Cornell University, with support from the National Science Foundation, are sponsoring a workshop on "The Machinery of Representation: Voting Technologies and the 2000 Presidential Election." This workshop will focus on the epistemological and sociotechnical dimensions of the contested vote in Florida, examining the issues raised for science and technology studies (S&TS), as well as for related political, policy, and legal analysis.
