Gary Samore is the Vice President for Global Security and Sustainability at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. As Vice President, Samore is responsible for the Foundation's international grantmaking, currently totalling approximately $75 million annually. The international program provides grants in the fields of international peace and security, human rights, international justice, the environment, and population. With headquarters in Chicago, the Foundation has offices in Mexico, India, Nigeria, and Russia, and supports work in 85 countries.
