Middle East Film Series: Wajib (Palestine, 2017)

Tickets Required Open to the Public

MEI is at capacity for ticket requests to the screening of Palestine's entry for Best Foreign Language Film to the Oscars, Wajib, by Annemarie Jacir, at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts (MFA). Please see the MFA website for further opportunities to purchase tickets.

Co-presented by the Boston Palestine Film Festival.

The film will also be screened on Sunday, March 4, 3:30pm at the MFA. Tickets for both screenings are available directly from the MFA at http://www.mfa.org/programs/series/wajib.

About

Plot Summary

Abu Shadi is a father and a school teacher in his mid-sixties living in Nazareth. After his daughter’s wedding in one month he will be living alone. Shadi, his architect son, arrives from Rome after years abroad to help his father in hand delivering the wedding invitations to each guest as per local Palestinian custom. As the estranged pair spend the day together, the tense details of their relationship come to a head challenging their fragile and very different lives.
