Dr. Nils Carlson, Manager of Intelligence Programs - “Z Program” - at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory will speak on “Program ‘Z’ - the Impact of Technology on Intelligence.”

Dr. Nils Carlson has been the Intelligence Programs - “Z Program” - Manager since 2009. In this role he leads the development and application of technologies and methodologies to uncover the leading indicators and characterize the threats that arise from the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and other asymmetric technologies. Dr. Carlson has held various positions at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory from March 1993 to August 1995 and from June 1997 to present. Dr. Carlson was also previously a research associate in the Division of Applied Sciences & Physics Department at Harvard University and a visiting scientist at the Regional Laser Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Carlson earned a B.A. in Physics from Johns Hopkins University and an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Physics from Stanford University.
