About

The Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs is proud to host a Directors’ Seminar with Ron Suskind, Pulitzer Prize Winner and New York Times Bestselling Author of “The One Percent Doctrine” and “The Price of Loyalty”, on Tuesday, September 26th.

Suskind’s most recent book, “The One Percent Doctrine: Deep Inside America’s Pursuit of its Enemies since 9/11,” reveals for the first time how the U.S. government, from President Bush on down, is frantically improvising to fight a new kind of war. Mr. Suskind sheds light on what he calls "the invisible battlefield" - a global matrix where U.S. spies race to catch soldiers of jihad before they strike.

His previous book, “The Price of Loyalty: George W. Bush, the White House and the Education of Paul O'Neill”, presents a singular, sweeping tour of the inner workings of the Bush Presidency. The New York Times called it “an invaluable contribution both to the historical record and to the fierce public debate over the nature of the Bush administration’s true views and motivations on issues of war and peace.” Forbes selected it as the “Business Book of the Year,” and Fortune cited it as one of the 75 “smartest” books ever written.

Ron Suskind has spent his career chronicling America’s social and political landscape. He has appeared on various television news programs as a correspondent or essayist and is a distinguished visiting scholar at Dartmouth College. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia, Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
