In today?s brown bag presentation, John Woodall will consider the human rights situation of the Baha'i of Iran in light of two worldviews about access to human rights; that which considers human rights to be universal, and that which maintains rights are conditional upon belief and are hierarchical in application. He will consider how these variations in assumption present problems for interpreting and protecting the rights of minorities, and how they affect the process of crafting international legal mechanisms for obtaining redress.
